You make me better.

You guys make me better.

You make me a better writer, a better author, and a better person.

How?

Because you make me come alive.

As a writer, and an entrepreneur, if I don’t have fire in my soul, I will fail. My books will be flat. Obstacles will feel insurmountable. And failures feel absolute.

Because all those are real in the writing world. I fail. A lot. Obstacles come at me constantly. And it can take a helluvua lot of effort to summon the confidence and energy to write the books that leap off the page.

That’s why I had such a dearth of books released over the last eighteen months. The obstacles got stronger than I could handle, and I had to regroup, rebuild my confidence and my direction, and fight to find momentum again.

When I prepared to launch Immortally Cursed last week, a part of me wondered what would happen. Would my readers still remember who I was? Would they follow me to S.A. Bayne? Would they forgive me for being less than perfect? Would they be okay with trying this funnier side of me (and don’t worry, we still have Order of the Blade and Wyoming Rebels on the schedule over the next few months!) I was so excited about all the books planned for this year, and to be writing, but I also knew that I was teetering on precarious confidence. If Immortally Cursed crashed and burned, would I stumble again?

Well, I didn’t need to find out, because you guys are AMAZING! Last week was such a phenomenal gift! There was SO much energy pouring toward me, so much love, from so many readers. The emails, the messages on Facebook, the constant cheers and affirmation, and of course, all of you who went out and bought it.

Thank you doesn’t begin to do justice to my appreciation, but I’ll say it anyway. THANK YOU!

This email from Wendy T is just one of the many that I received, that I read, that touched my heart:

“I usually don’t email authors, but I just had to.  I read all the Order of the Bladebooks and loved them. So far I have read Immortally Cursed, Not Quite a Devil and Rock Your Evil, all this week. I think they are all great. I especially liked Rock Your Evil. I laughed so much I was crying and had to put the book down for a few minutes because every time I tried to finish the paragraph I started laughing again and I couldn’t see the page. I even started laughing the next day when I thought about the part with Rhett, Johnny, P. B. and Eve in the basement “I got him” (you know the one I’m talking about- but no spoilers here). I am so looking forward to more of your books. I love to read and have a huge TBR backlog on my eReader but your books went to the top of this list. I can’t wait until the next one is out.” ~Wendy T

It is so incredibly meaningful and beautiful to know that you guys are still with me, and to know that my books still bring you joy. YAY! And, because of all the awesome love and support last week, you guys have lit me up! I am writing like a fiend, and I have all sorts of awesome ideas for you guys!

As a result, I have already put in place a few cool readers’ bonuses for you guys for The Demon You Trust, which is coming out on Tuesday (I know, right, that’s so soon! So exciting!). I’m still getting everything in order, but I will hopefully be able to announce a lot of them tomorrow, including a call for ARC reviewers!

I received so many entries for the autographed proof of Immortally Cursed, that it has inspired me to do more of that… (again, more details later this week). But in the meantime, huge congrats to Lynnette Gledhill for winning! Yay Lynnette!

Thank you again! I love you guys!

SAB/Stephanie

PS If you read The Demon You Trust as a bonus for Rock Your Evil, comment below and let me know what you thought! I’d love to feature you this week for The Demon You Trust release!
